Orange 5G Lab Antwerp

The Orange 5G Lab Antwerp is a program aimed at discovering and testing the benefits of 5G for startups, SMEs and large enterprises: experimenting with new uses or new products and services in real-life conditions using 5G SA network technology.

5G SA means that both the radio access network and the core network are 5G, enabling network slicing to create virtual private networks for our customers.

Orange is part of The Beacon community, home to our Orange 5G Lab. This is a community and innovation center dedicated to the smart city, mobility, logistics and industry,

The Orange 5G Lab site is equipped with 5G indoor and is directly connected to the 5G core network. This enables us to discover, experiment with and develop new use cases, then easily deploy and scale them on our customers’ and prospects’ own premises.

Start Walking 5G : heading for a sustainable future

In December 2019, Orange launched, as a first for Belgium, an autonomous 5G network for businesses in the port of Antwerp. The results of this project were presented on October 22, at the Start Walking 5G virtual event.
