Following Antwerp and Liège, Orange Belgium opened its third 5G Lab in Brussels on 23 September. Designed to discover and test the potential of 5G, the Lab also enables the co-development of concrete solutions, seven of which are currently being demonstrated in the heart of the Belgian capital.

1. Public safety:

2. Smart cities:

3. Healthcare:

  • Real-time translation of video calls to facilitate communication between patients and carers who speak different languages (e.g. : Trulinco (opens in a new window)).
  • Ascom’s Myco smartphone, equipped with specific features for hospital staff who need reliable connectivity for emergencies: push-to-talk, alarm, barcode reader, etc. (e.g. : Ascom (opens in a new window))
  • Remote video assistance and monitoring of patients hospitalised at home, particularly for procedures such as kidney dialysis.

This new Orange 5G Lab illustrates Orange’s commitment to accelerating local digital transformation and making its centres drivers of innovation for a more connected, secure and sustainable society.
