Take part in a 5G remote car race at the event!
Orange is attending the Mobile World Congress 2022, unveiling a number of its recent innovations and demonstrating how, in the wake of the crisis, it intends to strengthen its leadership. Among the services presented, Orange will highlight the service of a start-up company supported in its 5G experiments by Orange 5G Lab. Polyptik, the creator of the Vrombr concept, will present a car race on a model circuit, which will allow visitors to experience the advantages of 5G and to project themselves into its future uses.
Each participant will be equipped with a smartphone connected to Orange Spain’s 5G commercial network from which he or she will be able to drive a 1/10th scale vehicle, located on a 40m long circuit installed in the Orange 5G Lab in Chatillon, near Paris. The vehicles will be equipped with 5G SIM cards connected to Orange France’s commercial 5G network. Via the mobile application, participants will try to achieve the best time, from the Barcelona stand. The players will drive their car using the on-board camera, which is streamed in real time, thanks to 5G, directly to the smartphone screen.
The 5G network, thanks to its very high speed and low latency characteristics, allows real-time and remote operations.
This demonstration of the advantages of 5G is the result of a collaboration between Polyptik and Orange. The startup benefited from Orange 5G Lab support and was able to test its Vrombr concept in a dedicated 5G environment, assisted by experts. The Orange 5G Lab program enables companies to discover the full potential of 5G. They are invited to come and think, experiment and bring to life the new uses enabled by 5G thanks to the 5G network of today or tomorrow, 5G equipment and a team of experts made available to them free of charge.
