Orange 5G Lab Brussels

Orange 5G Lab Brussels is the third 5G Lab opened by Orange Belgium after Antwerp and Liège. Located within IRISnet’s Innovation Center, this new space aims to accelerate the development of innovative solutions using 5G technology.

This lab is the result of a strategic partnership with IRISnet, a public-private organization operating in the Brussels-Capital Region. The room dedicated to research and experimentation is shared equally between Orange and IRISnet, illustrating their shared commitment to boosting innovation in the region.

The main objective of this 5G Lab is to foster research, development and the implementation of concrete 5G-based projects to address local challenges, while supporting Brussels’ digital transformation. By creating this space, Orange aims to strengthen its presence in the region and help make Brussels a pilot area for technological innovation.

Optimizing urban processes: 5G improves day-to-day management in cities and buildings.

Water leaks: Shayp (opens in a new window)uses IoT and AI to detect water leaks, which represent on average 22% of the water bill. 5G increases the efficiency of this solution.
Video surveillance: Phoenix AI (opens in a new window) combines 5G and AI to respond in real time to incidents such as vandalism or illegal dumping.
Sound detection: ASAsense (opens in a new window) offers a sound-based system to detect incidents without cameras, enabling immediate intervention.
